Christmas Torske 2007

The men of Torskeklubben are Canadians of Norwegian heritage, either by birth or ancestry, or those with an interest in Norwegian culture. We meet monthly to visit with friends, eat a traditional Norwegian meal of cod (torsk), potatoes and carrots … and enjoy a glass or two of aquavit. The common language spoken is English, with some Norwegian thrown in. Dress is casual, and humour is the order of the day.

Our purpose is:

* To encourage a connection with one’s culture and heritage, while being proudly Canadian.
* To remind ourselves that laughter is the strongest medicine.
* To support initiatives that benefit our community’s well-being and cultural development.
